PAI is dedicated to working with policymakers in D.C. and a global network to promote accessible, quality healthcare and to advance sexual and reproductive rights for women, girls, and vulnerable groups. It aims for efficient financial stewardship, with over 80% of expenditures directed towards critical program services, recognized by top ratings from significant charity evaluators.
The Faith Plus Family Planning Grant targets low- and middle-income countries where faith-based organizations play a crucial role in health care delivery, responsible for about 40% of primary health care, including reproductive and maternal services, in sub-Saharan Africa. Recognizing the trust and unique perspective religious entities bring, this initiative offers funding and technical support for these organizations to embark on family planning and reproductive health advocacy. This includes promoting government funding for family planning, integrating family planning into wider health services, advocating for rights and quality of care, debunking contraception myths, and highlighting family planning's role in reducing maternal mortality and poverty. Supported advocacy efforts must be collaborative, specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) and focus on activities like staff engagement, strategy development, and direct advocacy costs.
