The Alaska Humanities Forum connects Alaskans through stories, ideas, and experiences that inspire understanding and strengthen communities. It envisions a culturally diverse, economically vibrant, and equitable Alaska where people are engaged, informed, and connected.
The Strengthening Communities Grants Program by the Alaska Humanities Forum supports the goal of connecting and understanding among Alaskans by investing in their stories, ideas, and community-building efforts. The program awards grants to nonprofit organizations, state, local, and federally recognized tribal governments. Additionally, it offers Kindling Conversation Stipends, which provide resources and funding to individuals interested in hosting community conversations to foster inclusive spaces, connect people across differences, and facilitate engaging discussions with the help of themed toolkits and support.
