The APSF aims to enhance the safety of patients during anesthesia care by identifying and promoting safety initiatives, being a leading advocate for anesthesia patient safety globally, and supporting the growth of a safety culture and knowledge in anesthesia.
The APSF Trainee Quality Improvement (TQI) Recognition Program is directed by the APSF Committee on Education and Training and aims to recognize and support projects in quality improvement related to patient safety in anesthesia. It offers tracks for Physician Anesthesiology residents, Nurse Anesthesia students, and Anesthesiologist Assistant students. Winners receive sponsorship to attend the Stoelting Conference in Somerville, Massachusetts, where they present their work, and their submissions are published on the APSF website.
