The mission of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation is to build stronger communities and improve the quality of life for all residents in the areas it serves. This involves supporting various charitable programs and endeavors, including the promotion of education, the arts, and community development.
The grant program fosters educational enrichment and supports arts and humanities within the Taconic Hills Central School District. Joint appraisal of applications by the Taconic Hills Education Enrichment Fund and the Taconic Hills Arts & Humanities Fund ensures a comprehensive approach to enhancing student and teacher experiences. The program backs a diverse range of initiatives, including independent studies, new programs, extracurricular activities, individual creative projects, visiting speakers, artists in residence, professional development for teachers, and field trips. Applicants must coordinate with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction to align their proposals with existing school programs and funding sources.
Preference will be granted to arts and humanities projects that embrace an interdisciplinary approach and demonstrate potential for evolving into continuous programs.
