Type of Support

Overview

The California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) Broadband Public Housing Account aims to support the construction of broadband networks providing free broadband service to residents of low-income communities. This includes publicly supported housing developments, farmworker housing, and low-income housing developments or mobile home parks not already serviced by a broadband provider offering free service meeting or exceeding state standards. With $15 million allocated for the current fiscal year, the grant finances up to 100% of the costs for inside wiring and network equipment installations. Grants and loans can be requested up to $150,000 per project with potential approval for higher amounts through the Commission via Resolution.
