Type of Support

Overview

The grant focuses on exploratory and developmental research projects related to addressing diagnostic or treatment uncertainties for individuals receiving care under the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010. This encompasses research on physical and mental health conditions related to the September 11 attacks, improving diagnostic methods where there's uncertainty, and enhancing treatment approaches for related health conditions. The grant aims to support innovative research that can lead to significant advancements in treatment and diagnosis effectiveness, improve care and well-being for 9/11-exposed populations, and ensure health equity in research design. Target populations include 9/11 responders, eligible survivors, and those certified as having been affected by the attacks. Special interest is given to research that could benefit vulnerable groups impacted by the events and lead to breakthroughs in clinical practices, with the expectation that proposed research may not yet have preliminary data.
