Their commitment extends across various programs to enhance community development, leadership, and engagement.
The Charles-Webb Ed Croft Endowment Fund is a grant program aimed at improving the lives of children with special needs in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties. The Committee has defined “children with special needs” as children diagnosed with a disability, mental or physical, recognized by the medical profession, including deficiencies in sight, hearing and speech, disabilities of an orthopedic, muscular or neurological nature, developmental disabilities, or other medically fragile conditions associated with disease or physical injury. The “medically fragile conditions” category includes only conditions which will impact the child’s life permanently – for example, a child who goes to the hospital with a broken leg would not qualify, as the injury will heal and should not impact the child’s life in the long-term.
