The Colorado Respite Coalition (CRC), under Easterseals Colorado, aims to address the respite care needs of Colorado’s family caregivers. They focus on providing breaks to caregivers through respite services, which can be offered at home, centers, or within the community, across all ages, health, and disability spectrums throughout Colorado.
The State Respite Grant program is designed to meet the increasing demands for respite care services among family caregivers in Colorado. By offering financial assistance to entities that currently provide respite care, this initiative seeks to ensure caregivers have the opportunity for much-needed breaks, knowing their loved ones are in safe hands. This encompasses respite care provided at home, in centers, or within the community, covering a broad spectrum of ages, health conditions, and disabilities across the state. Funded by Colorado State General Funds and managed in collaboration with Easterseals Colorado and the Colorado Department of Human Services, State Unit of Aging, the program aims to expand access to respite care and support agencies in enhancing their service capacity. This grant specifically targets assisting families as a Payer of Last Resort, meaning those who do not have access to respite care through Medicaid waivers or other sources of funding. A range of $5,000 to $30,000 is available for eligible organizations/agencies, with no required match, although voluntary contributions are encouraged to maximize the program's reach.
