DDAF Oral Health Education Grants

The mission of the Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation (DDARF) is to improve oral health for everyone by supporting initiatives that discover, test, and share creative ideas aimed at improving oral health outcomes and promoting health equity. DDARF focuses on empowering communities with knowledge, ensuring equitable access to oral health care, and fostering systemic change in oral health processes.

Overview

Oral Health Education Grants aim to enhance oral health knowledge and empower underserved, uninsured, and underinsured Arkansas residents through community partnerships. These grants support innovative educational programs that promote healthy oral habits like brushing and flossing teeth, and regular dentist visits, catering to all ages, ethnicities, genders, and socio-economic statuses in Arkansas. Funding ranges from $2,500 to $30,000 per organization.

Submission

Review Criteria

DDARF will favor educational initiatives that employ strategies grounded in solid evidence. The foundation will give special consideration to grant applications that include, where relevant, the following elements:

  • A strong emphasis on oral health.
  • A detailed implementation plan, specifying the timeline, activities, and the assigned responsibilities.
  • Collaboration between various entities such as organizations, educational institutions, and healthcare providers.
  • Efforts to engage a variety of community groups, particularly those led by people who represent the demographics of the target population.
  • Systems for directing individuals in need of dental services to appropriate care providers.
  • Additional support services linking participants with broader social services.
  • The establishment of oral health initiatives in regions where such services are scarce or non-existent.
  • Organizations that have previously received funding and have submitted thorough Interim and Final Reports.
