Overview

The Duke Energy Foundation's Local Impact Grants program aims to support initiatives within North Carolina that contribute to vibrant economies, climate resiliency, and justice, equity, and inclusion. The foundation provides funding for projects such as workforce development in the energy sector, community revitalization, economic recovery efforts, educational support in energy and engineering for K-12, environmental conservation, disaster preparedness and response, and initiatives tailored to historically underserved communities and promoting diversity and inclusion. Grants are available up to $20,000 and are accepted on a rolling basis.

Organizations offering or providing Duke Energy Corp., the Duke Energy Foundation, or their respective officers or employees any benefit from the grant
Nonprofit organizations opposing or intervening in proceedings where Duke Energy is a party, or that fund negative advertisements against Duke Energy
Individual K-12 schools or organizations within an individual school (exceptions for district level)
Sports teams or events
Religious programs, projects, or activities
Programs aimed at direct cost reduction for electric or natural gas service by Duke Energy
External fundraising campaigns or events
General operating expenses
Capital investments and improvements
Endowments or other foundations
Multiple grants to the same institution in a calendar year.
