Today, Edison International is one of the largest corporate philanthropic contributors in Southern California, partnering with local nonprofits and community heroes to build a better tomorrow. With a commitment to helping communities shine while addressing tough issues such as air quality, clean energy solutions, community resilience, diversity, equity & inclusion, and STEM education, they have contributed $20 million in funding to support these causes, focusing on helping underserved residents.
The Edison International Linework Scholarship Program, in collaboration with IBEW Local 47, aims to diversify the field of SCE lineworkers by providing scholarships up to $25,000. This initiative supports the costs of tuition, tools, and necessary support services for completing training at the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College. Upon graduation and meeting additional requirements such as obtaining a Class A driver's license and fulfilling SCE pre-employment conditions, recipients are qualified for entry-level skilled trade positions at SCE. The program lasts about 12 months and highlights Edison International's commitment to education and skill development in the energy sector.
