The Gene Haas Foundation, established in 1999 by Gene Haas, aims to support the needs of local communities and to address the industry-wide need for skilled manufacturing employees. It focuses on both community support through grants to various charities and the promotion of manufacturing training programs globally. By awarding scholarship grants, sponsoring CNC competitions, and partnering with top CNC training programs, it seeks to increase access to high-quality manufacturing technology training worldwide.
The Gene Haas Foundation Grant Program for Post Secondary School Scholarships primarily aims to fund scholarships for students pursuing or planning to pursue CNC Machine Technology programs. Recognizing the critical skills gap in the manufacturing sector, the scholarship funds can cover tuition, required small tools, textbooks, and NIMS credentials. Additionally, up to $2,000 annually can be allocated for sponsoring a competition that the recipient's manufacturing program participates in. Applications are accepted year-round, with grant distributions closing annually on January 15 and funds disbursed within the following 60 days to eligible programs.
