At HU, we are dedicated to transforming human exploitation and violent conflict into enduring freedom and peace by understanding and analyzing systems that contribute to these issues. Our approach includes supporting and building thoughtful initiatives for sustainable impact through financial support, strategic communications, advocacy, network building, and direct engagement.
The grant program aims to address complex and dynamic challenges through collaboration, innovation, and deep understanding. HU focuses on catalyzing and incubating promising concepts, demonstrating potential solutions, and supporting effective ideas deployment. The grantmaking process starts with a Concept note, allowing applicants to present initial ideas as an easy preliminary step. If the concept note aligns with HU’s strategic fit, programmatic goals, and potential impact, the process advances to the Proposal stage. HU seeks to partner with organizations and individuals committed to systemic change and supports a broad range of institutions, networks, and activities across its strategic initiatives, including Forced Labor & Human Trafficking, Public Engagement, and Peacebuilding, with a funding dedication between $17M and $18.8M annually.
