IH: INcommon Grant

From Indiana Humanities Council Inc

Indiana Humanities is a statewide nonprofit aimed at infusing the humanities into daily life. They do this through grants, discussions, uplifting humanities scholars, spotlighting humanities organizations and activities, and creating their own programs to help Hoosiers think, read, and talk.

Type of Support

Overview

The INcommon Grant from Indiana Humanities supports tax-exempt organizations in developing and implementing humanities-based programs aimed at sparking in-depth conversation, insight, and consideration of others’ points of view on persistent social, economic, cultural, and racial issues that divide communities. These issues include topics such as immigration, gentrification, incarceration, policing, institutional racism, and the legacies of segregation. Eligible projects may involve reading series and civic reflection discussions, public lectures or panels, film screenings and discussions, or the creation of exhibits, web projects, walking tours, or documentary films. Indiana Humanities plans to award 8 to 10 INcommon Grants this year.
