The mission of the Kaiser Permanente Hawaii Region Community Grants Program is to improve the health of communities across Hawaii. This is accomplished through funding initiatives that enhance wellness, improve access to quality healthcare, and support education in medical and health policy fields.

Type of Support

Overview

The grant program has a broad focus on enhancing community health through a variety of initiatives. It supports:

  • Community Health Initiatives aimed at promoting wellness, reducing obesity, improving diets, and increasing physical activity, with a particular interest in Healthy Eating Active Living programs.
  • Safety Net Partnerships that enhance the infrastructure of community clinics, health departments, and public hospitals for better health care delivery.
  • Care and Coverage to provide medical coverage for individuals participating in Medicaid and Charity Care programs.
  • Developing and Disseminating Knowledge by funding programs that educate medical practitioners, inform consumers about health, and guide policymakers on improving health outcomes for all.
