The Lupus Research Alliance aims to eliminate lupus through scientific research. The organization’s mission involves transforming the lives of those affected by lupus by venturing into a new era of scientific innovations, advancing knowledge, engaging new scientific talents, and leading efforts towards developing new treatments, prevention methods, and ultimately a cure.
The Translational Bridge Award by the Lupus Research Alliance is designed to accelerate the transition from post-discovery research to pre-commercial development for lupus-related innovations. Offering up to $450,000 over two years, the grant supports milestone-driven projects with a clear path to commercialization or clinical evaluation. This includes developing commercial entities or clinical products directly relevant to lupus. The goal is to improve diagnosis, standard of care, or pursue a cure through technologies, therapies, interventions, and diagnostics. Proposals must detail a plan for translating discoveries or advancing to the next development stage, taking into account scientific, clinical, and commercial objectives. Projects may focus on data validation, pre-clinical or pilot clinical studies to enable translational milestones, or ancillary studies tied to ongoing clinical trials to further analyze potential products or components, aiming for late-stage validation or enhancement of commercial strategy.
