The Medfield Foundation (MFi) is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of Medfield residents, building a stronger community, and facilitating private funding for public needs in the town. Through organizing signature events and enabling projects to raise funds without separate charity status, MFi aims to support Medfield's charities and promote town-wide initiatives.
The grant program offered by the Medfield Foundation focuses on supporting non-profit fundraising within the community in areas such as Arts & Culture, Youth & Recreation, Landmark Preservation, and Community Support. Community organizations in Medfield that align with MFi's mission can apply to become an MFi Initiative, which allows them to utilize MFi’s non-profit certification for fundraising. This partnership simplifies the fundraising process by managing bookkeeping, accounting, and tax compliance, offering a way for these organizations to gain 501(c)(3) benefits without navigating the complex process on their own. Organizations are vetted and, upon approval, can channel donations through MFi to benefit from its non-profit status, accounting support, and tax deductions for donors, with a nominal service fee to cover administrative costs.
