The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation's mission is to help ensure that Montana's land and water resources provide benefits for present and future generations.
The grant program is dedicated to supporting forestry and natural resource education for pre-K through 12th grade students and their educators, in both classroom and outdoor settings. It aims to fund activities that offer meaningful natural resource education experiences for youth and enhance the abilities of natural resource professionals, volunteers, or organizations to provide quality educational experiences. The grant covers outdoor education activities, facilitator training, professional development in conservation education, facilitation costs including meeting spaces and refreshments, and travel or registration for relevant training or professional development opportunities. Funding is capped at $3,000, with the potential for higher amounts in exceptional cases, and must be used within one calendar year of approval.
