Overview

The Veterinary Student Scholar Program, hosted by the Morris Animal Foundation, is established to encourage veterinary students to engage in research projects that aim to enhance the health and welfare of dogs, cats, domesticated equids, and wildlife. The program is competitive and offers veterinary students the chance to conduct guided research. Selected participants receive a $5,500 stipend for their summer research endeavors, aiming to provide hands-on research experience, contribute new knowledge for animal health, support career advancement in scientific research, ensure longer and healthier lives for animals, and encourage publication in professional journals. The program supports a wide range of research topics related to feline, wildlife, domesticated equid, or canine health. Each academic institution is allowed to submit two applications, suggesting an expanded reach and increased opportunities for veterinary students to participate in impactful research.
