Our mission is to promote New York State agriculture and its high-quality and diverse products, foster agricultural environmental stewardship, and safeguard the state’s food supply, land, and livestock to ensure the viability and growth of New York’s agriculture industries.
The Community Resiliency Training Program seeks to fund Soil and Water Conservation Districts that collaborate with regional watershed groups or coalitions in organizing and conducting training events. The grant supports training in three key areas: Post Flood Emergency Stream Intervention, North Atlantic Aquatic Connectivity Collaborative, and Roadside Ditch Maintenance. This program aims to empower local entities by improving their capacity to manage and mitigate the impacts of flooding and maintaining ecological connectivity and water quality through effective stream and roadside ditch management practices. The initiative underscores the importance of regional teamwork and knowledge sharing to enhance community resilience against environmental challenges. Eligibility for this funding opportunity is extended to New York State Soil and Water Conservation Districts partnering with regional watershed groups, underscoring a community-focused approach to environmental conservation and resiliency building.
