Overview

The Round 18 Farmland Protection Implementation Grants (FPIG) Program is designed to fund the acquisition of perpetual conservation easements on viable agricultural land, specifically targeting farm operations that are vulnerable to negative influences such as trade disputes, increasing debt, changing consumer preferences, and climate change. This grant supports local initiatives aimed at maintaining the economic viability of the agricultural industry and preserving the environmental and landscape values associated with agriculture. These initiatives must align with agricultural and farmland protection plans adopted by counties or municipalities, in accordance with Article 25-AAA of the Agriculture and Markets Law.
