Healthy Lives: Biomedical Research Grant Program

From The New York Community Trust

As New York’s community foundation, we foster and engage in enduring and innovative philanthropy.

Type of Support

Overview

The Trust, serving as metropolitan New York's community foundation, supports projects aimed at enhancing the lives of New Yorkers. With a focus on competitive grants funded by donor bequests and wills, it backs projects in several key areas: promoting efficient and equitable health and behavioral health services, aiding older adults, the blind or visually impaired, children and youth with disabilities, and those with developmental disabilities. In addition to supporting biomedical research, it places a particular emphasis on cancer, heart disease, incurable diseases, and leprosy research. The grant program aims to assist early- and mid-career researchers to initiate projects and secure further funding, while organizations re-granting biomedical research funds are not eligible.
