The mission of the North Carolina State Board of Education is to use its constitutional authority to guard and maintain the right of a sound, basic education for every child in North Carolina Public Schools.
The Indian Education Formula Grants are designed to support the educational and culturally related academic needs of American Indian and Alaska Native students. These grants aim to help these students meet the same challenging state academic standards as all other students by supplementing regular school programs. The grants focus on enhancing proficiency in core content areas such as Reading, Math, and Science, providing enrichment programs, supporting after-school programs, early childhood education, tutoring, and dropout prevention efforts.
