The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) aims to fund projects that enhance active involvement from patients, caregivers, clinicians, and other healthcare stakeholders in patient-centered outcomes research and comparative clinical effectiveness research. This initiative is in place to ensure that the healthcare community and its processes are inclusive, patient-focused, and aimed at improving healthcare delivery and outcomes.
The grant program focuses on enhancing the capacity and skills of patients and stakeholders to participate in all phases of patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) and comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER). The program encourages proposals for projects that aim to build capacity for PCOR/CER, with the possibility of these projects lasting up to two years and having funding up to $300,000. The Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award Program, associated with this opportunity, is set to award up to $25 million in fiscal year 2025. This funding supports projects that promote the meaningful involvement of various healthcare stakeholders in the CER enterprise. This is distinctly not a research funding opportunity but rather an initiative to foster engagement and collaboration within the research process.
