Project Grants in Education

From Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA)

Established in 1967, the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts is charged by the state legislature to stimulate public interest and participation in the arts, and to serve as the liaison to the state's arts community.

Type of Support

Overview

RISCA's Project Grants in Education program supports the provision of high-quality artistic learning experiences for students by funding projects that are experiential and focus on the exploration of art and the artistic process. The grant aims to enhance arts education by supporting schools, non-profit organizations, arts educators, and teaching artists in creating meaningful artistic experiences in dedicated learning environments. The program encourages building the capacity of local teaching artists and nonprofit organizations, prioritizing equity, access, and collaboration. Funding amounts are up to $10,000 for organizations and up to $3,000 for individuals, with specific match requirements for organizations based on the request amount and conditions aimed at broadening access to arts education, particularly in under-resourced communities.
