Other Capital Grant

The Foundation's mission is to effect permanent positive change in the lives of individuals and families across Greater Boston, especially in economically disadvantaged communities. They invest in organizations that improve human health, raise educational attainment, increase economic security, and meet community needs.

Type of Support

Overview

Richard & Susan Smith Family Other Capital Grant supports extraordinary leaders, promotes innovative approaches to pressing problems, expands access to essential services, and contributes to the vitality of Greater Boston. The Foundation invests in organizations that improve human health, raise educational attainment, increase economic security, and meet community needs.

We occasionally support transformative capital projects in the $250,000 to $3 million range from nonprofits that are well-led, can point to significant accomplishments, and have a mission that is clearly aligned with ours.

Our intention is not to provide general support for larger, multi-million dollar capital campaigns, but rather to catalyze discrete, identifiable projects that meet a specific need and will result in a game-changing physical asset for an organization.
