Professional Development and Artistic Planning Grants target the enhancement of professional development for Southern presenters, programmers, or curators, aiming to fortify program design or boost organizational capacity. The initiative values professional growth, including the exploration of new works and participation in industry gatherings. Eligible for various artistic domains, these grants assist with costs related to attending professional events or hosting guest artists/curators for planning sessions. Expenses covered include travel, lodging, event admission, and also extend to virtual development opportunities and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility training among others.

  • Must have a DUNS number
  • Applying for new opportunities that are normally unattainable
  • Project must support the applicant's work as a presenter
  • Limited to one Professional Development and Artistic Planning application per South Arts fiscal year

Ineligibility

Applicants who have not submitted final reports for previous South Arts grants by the deadline
Applicants who do not acknowledge South Arts and National Endowments for the Arts support properly
Fiscal agents applying on behalf of others.
