Sparkplug Foundation Grant

Sparkplug offers grants targeting start-up organizations and new projects within established nonprofits across three main areas: Education, Community Organizing, and Music. In Education, Sparkplug backs initiatives aimed at supporting communities through non-traditional instruction. It focuses on engaging students sidelined by systemic issues like racism or colonialism, emphasizing projects that foster critical thinking and address disparities in race, gender, and class. Community Organizing grants support grassroots efforts by people within a community to effect systemic change or shift power dynamics, particularly projects by and for individuals facing oppression, discrimination, or barriers. In Music, the foundation aids emerging musicians and projects that unite communities through collective creativity, including the development and dissemination of new work, the collaboration between musicians, and the delivery of music to oppressed groups.
