The Coastal Conservancy is a state agency, established in 1976, to protect and improve natural lands and waterways, to help people get to and enjoy the outdoors, and to sustain local economies along California’s coast.
The Southern California Wetlands Recovery Project’s Community Wetland Restoration Grant Program offers funding for community-based restoration projects in coastal wetlands and coastal stream corridors within the Southern California region. This initiative aims to achieve specific goals of the WRP Regional Strategy 2018, focusing on the restoration of coastal wetlands, streams, adjacent habitats, and non-tidal wetlands. It places a particular emphasis on supporting community-based restoration projects, enhancing local capacity for planning and implementing these projects, fostering community involvement in wetland restoration, and promoting education about wetland ecosystems. All projects funded must incorporate significant educational and community involvement elements.
