Type of Support

Overview

The EDA's grants under the Planning and Local Technical Assistance programs are devised to support the creation and implementation of regional economic development plans and strategies, with a strong focus on enhancing economic prosperity and resilience. The Planning program prioritizes Partnership Planning investments, aiding in the development, implementation, revision, or replacement of Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies (CEDS) for Economic Development Districts and Indian Tribes. These plans prioritize strategic economic goals tailored to the needs and strengths of their regions. Additionally, the program provides support for Short Term and State Planning investments aimed at job creation and retention in economically distressed areas. The Local Technical Assistance program complements these efforts by enhancing the capacity of local and state organizations, academic institutions, and other eligible entities through economic development projects like feasibility studies and impact analyses, bolstering overall economic growth and development strategies.
