Type of Support

Overview

The grant program outlined supports the development and implementation of Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies (CEDS) with the aim of fostering regional economic prosperity and resiliency. Through the Planning and Local Technical Assistance programs, EDA provides grants to assist in the creation of regional economic development plans, support the development and implementation of CEDS — especially for designated Economic Development Districts and Indian Tribes — and offer assistance for short-term and state planning investments. These efforts are geared towards creating and retaining high-quality jobs in economically distressed regions. Additionally, the Local Technical Assistance program is designed to enhance the capacity of local or state organizations, higher education institutions, and other qualified recipients to conduct and promote efficient economic development strategies through feasibility studies, impact analyses, and other projects.
