The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency — making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) aims to support the development and implementation of a Clinical Coordinating Center (CCC) essential for conducting multi-site clinical trials. These trials include efficacy, comparative effectiveness, pragmatic, and/or implementation research clinical trials that align with the research mission of the NHLBI. The grant focuses on trials that cover various stages of development and implementation, highlighting the need for a comprehensive plan covering project management, subject recruitment and retention, performance milestones, scientific conduct, and results dissemination. A unique aspect of this grant is its bi-phasic, milestone-driven cooperative agreement mechanism, designed to ensure projects achieve their stated goals efficiently. This FOA runs concurrently with a companion FOA for a Data Coordinating Center (DCC), requiring applicants to submit proposals for both CCC and DCC to be considered, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the research efforts encouraged by NHLBI.
