Type of Support

Overview

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) aims to support early-stage investigators by providing them with support and protected time (up to five years) for research-focused career development activities under the mentorship of experienced professionals. The program focuses on increasing the number of skilled scientists utilizing nonhuman primate (NHP) models for translational biomedical research that has potential clinical applications. The goal is to help awardees develop into independent researchers who are competitive for new research project grants. This FOA specifically targets applicants who propose research that does not involve leading an independent clinical trial, a clinical trial feasibility study, or an ancillary study to a clinical trial, though research experience in a clinical trial led by a mentor or co-mentor is allowed.
