The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency — making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.
The NCMRR Early Career Research (ECR) Award (R03) is designed to aid rehabilitation scientists in establishing independent research careers. This grant supports a variety of projects, including but not limited to secondary analysis of existing data, small research projects, development of research methodology, translational research, outcomes research, and the development of new technology. Projects must align with one or more areas within NCMRR's mission, drawing upon strategic priorities outlined in the NIH Research Plan on Rehabilitation. A key goal of the ECR Award R03 is to enable recipients to generate preliminary data that will support a future R01 application.
