The grant aims to support the development of clinically trained vision scientists, preparing them for independent research careers through innovative institutional research career development programs. It seeks to expand and strengthen the clinician investigator community in vision research. Specifically, the grant allows for the appointment of Scholars leading or participating in minimal risk clinical trials. It emphasizes the recruitment of individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, as well as individuals with disabilities, in line with NOT-OD-22-019 requirements.
