To foster health and well-being by providing federal leadership, partnership and resources for the compassionate and effective delivery of human services
The Social and Economic Development Strategies-Alaska (SEDS-AK) program is tailored to support Village-specific projects that enhance the governmental capabilities of Alaska Native Villages in administration and project management. The program emphasizes the interrelation between social and economic development as foundational for the prosperity of Native communities. It offers financial support to a variety of eligible applicants, including Federally-recognized Indian tribes in Alaska, Alaska Native villages, non-profit village consortia, Native Community Development Financial Institutions, and other non-profit organizations with projects specifically benefiting these villages. This initiative underlines the unique governmental structures and needs in Alaska, aiming to foster economic and social self-sufficiency among Alaska Natives.
