WHS is the designated support and service provider of human resources, facilities, resource management, contracting, personnel security, research, equal employment opportunity, transportation, and executive services for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Staff, the Military Departments, other select DoD Components in the National Capital Region and beyond, Congress, and the White House.
The Department of Defense (DoD) Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) is seeking innovative applications focused on the implementation and research of the effectiveness of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, outreach, and workforce initiative programs. The initiative aims to support a wide range of activities included but not limited to STEM Education and Outreach, support for STEM education at two-year institutions/community colleges, manufacturing engineering education programs, education and workforce development aligned with DoD critical technology areas, enhanced civics education, STEM scholarship programs, strategic partnerships, program evaluations and assessments, data analytics and visualizations, and activities aligned with the DoD STEM Strategic Plan. Additionally, it encompasses other NDEP Congressional Initiatives and Programs. This initiative invites applicants to submit a white paper as a prelude to a full application, focusing on areas detailed in the program description for evaluation and potential funding.
