The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) is the contracting and assistance agreement element of the United States Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC) and provides support to the Command headquarters and its worldwide network of laboratories and medical logistics organizations as well as other non-USAMRDC customers.
The grant program aims to solicit extramural research and development ideas to support basic and applied research. This research should advance scientific study and experimentation, aimed at improving or increasing knowledge and understanding rather than developing specific systems or hardware solutions. The goal is to benefit and inform both military and civilian medical practices and knowledge. The program is competitive, with selection criteria focusing on scientific and technological proposals that fit within specified Research Areas of Interest. It operates under competitive procedures to ensure the selection of quality S&T proposals and is guided by the intention to make meaningful advances in medical science that support operational readiness and public health.
