The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) links U.S. agriculture to the world to enhance export opportunities and global food security.
The grant program supports the broad goal of improving agricultural systems and capacity in emerging and middle-income countries through comprehensive training in the United States. Specifically, it focuses on training senior and mid-level specialists and administrators in areas such as agricultural trade and policy, agribusiness development, agricultural marketing, and various scientific disciplines related to agriculture. Beneficiaries are selected from both public and private sectors and receive training designed in partnership with U.S. academia, government agencies, agribusinesses, and consultants. This initiative not only strengthens agricultural practices but also aims to foster international networking and cooperation among agricultural professionals.
