The grant program is designed to support Alaska Native-Serving Institutions and Native Hawaiian-Serving Institutions in their efforts to enhance education, conduct applied research, and implement related community development programs. Its broad goals include improving educational opportunities and outcomes for underrepresented students, boosting institutional educational capacities, and preparing students for careers in food, agricultural, and natural resource systems. Specifically, it seeks to prioritize projects that promote educational equity, strengthen teaching programs in food and agricultural sciences, and utilize resources efficiently to benefit these areas of study.
