We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.
This grant program aims to provide affordable funding for the development of essential community facilities in rural areas with no more than 20,000 residents. It supports the creation or improvement of facilities that are crucial for the local community's orderly development in primarily rural areas, explicitly excluding private, commercial, or business undertakings. Eligible uses of funds include the acquisition, construction, and improvement of essential facilities, equipment purchases, and related expenses. Supported facilities encompass a wide range of community services including healthcare, public safety, education, public facilities, community support services, and local food systems. The grant assistance is offered on a graduated scale, favoring smaller communities with the lowest median household income, with specific grant percentages tied to the community's population size and median household income compared to poverty lines and state nonmetropolitan median household income.
