We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.
This program offers affordable funding to develop essential community facilities in rural areas. Essential community facilities are those providing an essential service to the local community, excluding private, commercial, or business undertakings. Eligible areas are rural, including cities, villages, townships, and towns on Federally Recognized Tribal Lands with up to 20,000 residents. Funds may be used for purchasing, constructing, improving facilities, buying equipment, and covering related project expenses. Facilities supported include healthcare, public facilities, community support services, public safety services, educational services, utility services, and local food systems. Grant assistance is provided on a graduated scale based on community size and median household income, with a maximum of 75 percent funding for the smallest, lowest-income communities.
