Mutual Self-Help Housing Technical Assistance Grants in Nebraska

From USDA: Rural Development (RD)

We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.

Type of Support

Overview

This grant program aims to facilitate self-help housing construction projects by providing grants to qualified organizations. These organizations assist groups of very-low- and low-income individuals and families in rural areas to construct their own homes. The unique aspect is that group members contribute most of the construction labor on each other's homes, under the guidance and technical supervision of the recipient organization. The grant supports technical and supervisory assistance for participating families, aids in recruiting families and assisting them in loan application processes, and enhances the capabilities of other organizations to implement self-help housing projects. Eligible areas for grant application can be checked through a dedicated link.
