    Type of Support

    Overview

This grant program aims to assist small rural businesses through technical assistance and training. It targets businesses with fewer than 50 new workers and less than $1 million in gross revenue. The grant supports projects in rural areas or towns outside cities with a population over 50,000, prioritizing those that benefit small and emerging businesses in these locations. Uses of funds include training, land development, construction, pollution abatement, revolving loan funds, distance learning, transportation, economic development, technology initiatives, feasibility studies, business plans, leadership training, rural incubators, and strategic planning. Smaller grant requests are favored, and opportunity grants are capped at 10 percent of total annual funding without a cost-sharing requirement.
