Overview

The Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP) aims to significantly increase the sales and use of higher ethanol and biodiesel blends by expanding the infrastructure for renewable fuels derived from U.S. agricultural products. This program encourages a more comprehensive approach to marketing higher blends by sharing the costs related to biofuel-related infrastructure development. Eligible applicants include transportation fueling and distribution facilities, as well as home heating oil distribution facilities. The program offers cost-share grants for up to 75 percent of total eligible project costs, with a maximum of $5 million for activities related to the distribution and use of biofuels such as E15 or higher ethanol blends and B20 or higher biodiesel blends.
