The Alpine Garden Society is dedicated to enthusiasts of alpine plants, rock gardening, rock garden plants, and any small hardy plants and bulbs. Its mission revolves around the promotion, study, and cultivation of such plants, aiming to further knowledge and interest in this horticultural area.
The Hendry Fund provides grants for specific alpine-related projects, encompassing research on any aspect of alpine plants, whether in the wild or under cultivation. Named after Evelyn F. Hendry, whose legacy funds it, the grant supports work on plant systematics, physiology, ecology, cultivation, propagation, the development of alpine gardens, and educational projects about alpine plants. While fieldwork may be supported, travel costs are not the primary purpose of the fund. In addition, the fund supports the development of alpine plant gardens and educational projects on alpines, including specific lectures.
