The Alzheimer’s Association aims to lead the fight against Alzheimer's and all other dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
The Alzheimer’s Association Research Fellowship (AARF) program aims to support postdoctoral fellows engaged in varied areas of Alzheimer’s and dementia research, including basic, translational, clinical, functional, and social-behavioral studies. It specifically targets early-career scientists who are yet to secure their first independent faculty positions. The grant encourages applications from individuals focused on clinically-oriented research without direct clinical practice involvement. Eligible researchers must be within 13 years of receiving their doctorate or other terminal degrees and not hold a position above Assistant Professor. Funding up to $200,000 covers research costs, travel for scientific meetings, and additional research support upon successful completion of the fellowship. This includes attendance at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC), underscoring the program's commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive research community focused on addressing Alzheimer's and dementia.
