The AABC Foundation, established by the American Association of Birth Centers in 1994, aims to enhance public knowledge and understanding of family-centered childbirth. It supports the advancement of the AABC birth center model as the standard for improving maternity and women's health care through fundraising.

Overview

The Birth Center Membership Support Grants program, established by AABC Foundation in 2006, offers financial assistance to birth centers applying for AABC membership for the first time or renewing their membership during a fiscal crisis. The grants cover up to 50% of the membership fees. AABCF has the exclusive authority over the grant guidelines, criteria, timelines, and awards. Awards are issued as promo codes to be used for online registration or renewal, expiring 3 months after issue.

Submission

Review Criteria

Priority will be granted to birth centers that exhibit any of the following criteria:

  • A dedication to providing services to women of low income or those receiving Medical Assistance
  • Location in either a rural or economically disadvantaged area
  • A yearly total income not exceeding $100,000
  • A pledge to promote awareness and educate the public regarding the role and benefits of birth centers
