Overview

The grant program offered by AOSSM, in collaboration with The Aircast Foundation and University Hospitals Cleveland Haslam Sports Innovation Center, is designed to fund up to three innovative projects in orthopaedic sports medicine with grants of up to $25,000 each. One of these grants, specifically funded by the Haslam Sports Innovation Center, is earmarked for a proposal focused on innovation within the field. The overarching goal of this grant initiative is to propel forward-looking projects by providing initial funding, which may serve as start-up capital, seed money, or supplement existing funding sources. This funding aims to support ambitious teams in their pursuit to advance understanding of novel or emerging technologies in orthopaedic sports medicine. Priority will be given to studies involving human subjects. The research priorities for this grant include Preventative Medicine, Orthobiologics & Regenerative Medicine, Optimizing Treatments, Return to Play, Osteoarthritis, and Cartilage. This opportunity is tied to the Playmaker Grant Lab event to be held at the 2024 AOSSM annual meeting in Denver, CO, where selected proposals will be invited to present. Application for this grant requires AOSSM membership with at least one team member in good standing with the organization.
