The Biochemical Society aims to advance the molecular and cellular biosciences, facilitating the sharing of expertise, supporting the advancement of biochemistry and molecular biology, and promoting their importance in the wider biological context.
These grants aim to enhance research capacity in low-income economies across Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East by fostering international skills and knowledge exchange. The program supports two main activities: enabling a researcher from a lower-income economy to visit a host laboratory in a higher-income economy to learn new methods, and facilitating a researcher from a higher-income economy to visit a lower-income economy to help establish research setups. The grants offer up to £2,000 to cover travel, accommodation, and subsistence for visits lasting between two and four weeks.
